Honeybees have an amazing sense of smell that allows them to communicate with each other. They use pheromones to signal everything from the location of a good food source to the presence of danger. In fact, their sense of smell is so acute that they can be trained to detect explosives and even some diseases. This incredible ability is all thanks to their antennae, which have over 300 taste receptors.

Did you know that bees have five eyes? They have two large compound eyes on the sides of their heads, which are made up of thousands of tiny lenses. These eyes are great for seeing movement and patterns. They also have three smaller eyes on the top of their heads, called ocelli, which help them navigate using the sun, even on cloudy days. This complex visual system allows them to be expert flyers and foragers.
